When Fred and I were in our early teens, we went to the annual Stamford Fair where Fred persuaded me to go on the Big Wheel.  As the carriage got higher, while taking on new passengers, the more nervous I got, and when the carriage finally reached the top I turned to Fred and said I really don’t like heights.  Well Fred with his big grin and wicked sense of humour, thought it would highly amusing to rock the carriage back and forth, which led to screams of no and stop, before the ride had even started.
